This project was years in the making, long before the first sod was turned. What began as a modest garden construction with the addition of a pool evolved into a complete home renovation, complemented by expansive cottage-style gardens and a pool that sits effortlessly within the rolling hills of the Mornington Peninsula.

Designed to feel generous yet grounded in its surroundings, the landscape now flows naturally across the property. The gardens bloom abundantly for much of the year, supported by on-site beehives nestled near the dam at the foot of the hill — a thoughtful touch that enhances both productivity and biodiversity.

Despite the scale of the planting, the maintenance requirements remain refreshingly balanced. Careful plant selection and considered design allow the garden to largely look after itself through the seasons, requiring only its annual “big haircut” to keep everything thriving and beautifully in shape.

This is a landscape built for longevity — abundant, resilient, and designed to be enjoyed rather than constantly managed.
